Office 2007 - Creating PDF Files
A very useful feature of Office 2007 is the ability to create PDF (Portable Document Format) files which can easily be shared among different types of computers and operating systems. To access this feature you will need to install an add-in program called “Microsoft Save as PDF”.
To check if you already have this add-in on your computer:
Go to the Office button
and select Save As. If a PDF option appears in the menu, you can skip to Part B below to begin converting documents. If you do not see the PDF icon, you need to first follow the installation instructions in Part A.

A. "Save as PDF" Installation Instructions:
1. Go to this Web page http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD101950461033.aspx and click on the link titled “2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF” (last item on the page.) Follow the on-screen instructions to download, save and install the file on your computer.
2. Next open a Microsoft Office program (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access.) Click on the Office button menu and click on the “Options” button at the bottom of the window.

3. In the Options window, click on “Add-Ins” along the left side.

4. In the list of choices, click on “Acrobat PDFMaker Office COM Addin”.
5. Click on the OK button at the bottom of the window.
6. Quit out of the Microsoft Office program you are using.
B. Converting a Document to PDF Format:
- Open a saved Microsoft Office document that you wish to convert to PDF.
- Click on the Office button and select Save As, then choose the PDF option.
- Select the folder where you wish to save the document, rename the document if desired, and click on Save. Your document is now in PDF format.
