UW Colleges & UW-Extension Host Preserving Pathways: A Neighborhood Conversation Series
UW Colleges and UW-Extension are partnering with Northern Wisconsin communities, organizations and government agencies to host Preserving Pathways: A Neighborhood Conversation Series. The series of three roundtables will focus on the topics of education, healthcare and the economy. UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen will facilitate the discussions.
Saving the Menomonee Language
In this video, Jennifer Gauthier talks about how she is helping save the Menomonee Language. There are 9,000 Menomonee children enrolled in school and very few are fluent in the language. Through classes and games, Jennifer is preserving the Menomonee Language by teaching it to her students.

Veterans Healing Garden
UW-Extension’s Veterans Healing Garden in Milwaukee County brings veterans together. The garden provides a space for community, clarity and peace. It gives our veterans a chance to get together and grow. UW-Extension’s educators provide food to plant and share information with the veterans to help them grow in the best way possible.

Cassandra Phillips, an English professor at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha, received a 2017 Teaching Excellence award from the Board of Regents.
Ideadvance Seed Fund now open to some UW System alumni
The Ideadvance Seed Fund awards grants to early-stage startups, with a focus on education. The program is now open to most UW System alumni, in addition to students, faculty and staff of the university system.
UWC Writing Program Receives Certificate of Excellence

Regents Honor Outstanding UW System Teachers
The UW System Board of Regents will honor the 25th annual winners of its Teaching Excellence Awards on April 7 in Platteville at the next Regents meeting. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in teaching. They are the UW System’s highest recognition for members of its faculty and academic staff. The monetary value of the award is $5,000 for each recipient.

Wisconsin veterans offered free entrepreneurship training
Funding is now available for Veterans to participate in the Wisconsin SBDC Entrepreneurship Training Program. SBDC, through a partnership with Bunker Labs, will offer the training at its 14 centers statewide.
