UW Colleges Website Migration
The UW Colleges web sites are being migrated to the new "virtualized" environment that is more stable, secure, and manageable. Central IT will be working closely with University Relations staff, Network Administrators, Instructional Technologists and the Campus Web Masters to schedule the migration of the web sites while ensuring the individual needs of the UW Campuses are addressed. The project is expected to run through 2009.
Project Management
Central IT will coordinate project activities and work in coordination with UW Colleges staff and the UWC Marketing Team to prioritize the campus migrations and project timelines.

Infrastructure and Management Tools
Central IT will establish a "virtualized" Two Tier environment consisting of development and production.
The web servers are Windows IIS server and will support ASP. FrontPage, PHP and SharePoint will not be installed on these systems. Central IT is also implementing a toolset that will provide campuses the ability to manage code deployment, version control and content management.

Migration Activities (Two Options)
A number of campuses have expressed interest in redesigning their web sites and leveraging the UWC Marketing CSS Templates, while others have requested that the site be migrated with minimal modifications. Central IT will assist with migration activities for either option selected.

Faculty & Staff Biography Pages
Central IT will be working closely with campuses to provide Faculty / Staff the ability to maintain their biography information on their Faculty websites.
