05/22/09 PRISM Communication

The PRISM 9 Upgrade continues to move forward and is on track for the July 6, 2009 release.  There will be an increasing number of posts as we move closer to the production release date.  Here are a few updates on the team’s activities:

Production Implementation Information

The PRISM Upgrade is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm on June 26, 2009 and the system will be available again at 8:00am on Monday, July 6, 2009.   A “read-only” copy of the records will be available to Student Services and accessible via the Training Environment. Official Transcripts will also be available during this period. Here is a brief outline of activities during the upgrade window:

PRISM 9.0 available to PRISM Team and select campus users for testing.

PRISM available to all users.

UWC Training Environment

The UWC Training environment was successfully implemented this past month and the PRISM Team and Central Office Business Units have been testing to ensure the environment is in a “production ready” state.  The Training Environment will be available to select campus tester on Friday, May 21, 2009. 

Reporting Issues

The success of the project will be highly dependent on the PRISM Team’s ability to efficiently address issues that are reported.  A number of upgrade specific mailboxes have been created to help simplify the management of issues.  The mailboxes should be used once the upgrade is released into the production environment for select user testing. The mailboxes include:
