High Priority
The UWC (old) web server is experiencing an outage. College web sites that have been migrated to the new environment are not impacted. For the remaining sites, you can get to D2L and PRISM through the following links.

Central IT will be performing an upgrade to the firewall and switches at the Pyle Data Center beginning at 5:30 a.m.. This will cause a brief outage of services to include all Exchange Email Services for all UWEX & UWC local administrative staff. We expect everything to be up and running prior to 6:00 am.
Sunday, April 26th, 2009 - Scheduled Network Maintenance
Network maintenance has been scheduled for Sunday April 26th, 2009, from 7:00am to 12:00pm that will impact e-mail connectivity for UW-Extension staff and all OWA access for UW College campuses. During maintenance, e-mail will be queued until the systems are brought back on line.
Thursday, April 9, 2009 - Emergency Maintenance on the Central Firewall
Central IT will be performing emergency maintenance on the central firewall at 5:00pm (CST) April 9, 2009. There will be a brief 5 minute outage when services will not be available.

Sunday, January 4, 2009 - Scheduled Network Maintenance
Network maintenance has been scheduled for Sunday January 4, 2009, from 5:00am to 8:00am that will impact network connectivity for a number of UW College campuses. KDL, the network provider will be testing its backup network links as part of its efforts to ensure the availability of services.

Friday, December 19, 2008 - Internet Explorer security issue
A critical security flaw has been detected in all versions of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser. Microsoft has issued a security update to correct this issue.
Central IT utilizes a method to automatically update the computers of all UWEX and UWC users. For those of you with laptops that do not connect directly to the UWC / UWEX network, go to the web link below and click ‘install’ to execute this update to protect your computer. If you have not installed the recent Microsoft updates, you may see more available updates that can be installed using ‘express’ installation. www.update.microsoft.com
Wednesday, November 5, 2008 - Server Maintenance
On Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 10:00 p.m., we will be performing maintenance on the file server affecting UWC users located at Lake St and Regent St.. There may be an outage of approximately ½ hour at this time as we move data in an effort to prevent space issues in the future.
October 26, 2008 - Server maintenance
On Sunday, October 26th from 7 am – noon, we will be performing maintenance and updates on the servers. Authentication and services may be impaired for a short period of time. If you are experiencing trouble with access to services, please try again after noon on Sunday.
September 3, 2008 - PRISM outage
We are experiencing problems this morning on the PRISM server. When trying to log on to PRISM, you may get the error: bea.jolt service exception. Service is not available. We are diligently working to get this issue resolved. Please try again later and watch this site for further updates.
PRISM is back up and running. 9:02 am.
July 12 & July 26, 6-11am - D2L outage
D2L will be down on Saturday, July 12th from 6-11 a.m. There will be another outage on Saturday, July 26th from 6-11 a.m. for similar work.
July 25, 2008 - OWA/email problems
We are experiencing some problems with the email servers which affect OWA transactions and UWEX email. We are working to get the problems fixed and service restored.
July 24, 10:00 pm - UWC campus website outage
UWC campus websites will be down tonight (July 24, 2008) at 10:00 pm for approximately 2 hours. This outage is occurring as an emergency repair for issues affecting the websites. All MS patches will be installed on the web server. While the server is being worked on tonight – students/staff can still get to the D2L log on page through the alternative link at: https://uwex.uwc.edu/d2l/
July 2 - blocked messaging systems (hotmail, roadrunner)
Microsoft has banned all email messages from our Exchange domain server to hotmail. There are other messaging systems, such as roadrunner, that have also blocked us. Therefore, anyone attempting to send or receive email using one of these accounts will not have emails delivered.
Updated 7/3/08 - this issue has been resolved.
June 29, 7am-Noon - Exchange server outage
The Exchange and AD servers will be down on Sunday, 6/29/08 from 7am - noon. The purpose for this outage is to install security patches and to perform other routine maintenance.
June 27, 6am-8am - Router maintenance
WiscNet will be performing some router maintenance to change primary and secondary IP routing on all UW Colleges routers. The purpose of this maintenance is to free up some IP space. All UW Colleges sites are likely to experience a 5-10 minute outage with internet connectivity while the change is being made.
This maintenance is currently scheduled for 6 am - 8 am on Friday, June 27, 2008.
June 26, Noon - Lake Street power outage
There will be a short power outage at the Lake Street building on Thursday, June 26th at noon. Backup battery units will provide the ability for the computer systems to remain up and running and we do not anticipate any problems.
June 23 - E-mail outage
The e-mail server was down on 6/22/08. This issue has been resolved, but a large number of e-mail messages are waiting in the queue. We are taking steps now to improve the situation.
