Growing up I lived in a small town so there was no room for animals, but our family thought that to be in 4-H meant you had to have animals. Come to find out, there was way more to 4-H than animals. I started 4-H at the age of 12 and I am home-schooled. Joining 4-H gave me a chance to use my talents and make some wonderful life-long friends, including my best friend. Most of all, I got to be outgoing and push myself outside my comfort zone and learn how to public speak or simply be confident talking one-on-one with anyone. Also, I got to use and widen my leadership skills which will be with me for the rest of my life.
