I moved from Missouri to Wisconsin, and landed myself homeless. I didn't have a purpose, a hope, or any sense of direction. When I lost family, shelter, food and hope, it was then that I decided I never wanted to end up here again. I was inspired by several women who mentored me in this season of my life to go after my education. At last I signed up for UW-Barron County and now I am completing my second semester here. I have been surrounded by amazing faculty and staff who push me to go farther than I ever imagined I could. I have found a sense of direction for the first time in my life. I am beyond excited that I now have dreams and goals to attain. It has not and still isn't easy for me but UW-Barron has been my light at the end of the tunnel.
