I chose nursing because it is an interesting, yet challenging field. I love working with people, and knowing I am making a difference in someone's life is even better! I chose UW- Manitowoc because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do after high school. Staying local also allowed me to keep my part time job, which allowed me to save even more. After UW-Manitowoc, I plan to attend Silver Lake College. I have a few more classes to take, but I will be starting the nursing program in fall of 2018. I have not picked a minor, but I have a few in mind.
One thing that surprised me most was how small the school was, yet how diverse it is. There are people coming from your old high school conference, or even a few hours away. It's just a great way to get to know people better and even make new friends! Get involved in sports, clubs, or other activities on campus. Don't be afraid to meet new people! And, don't be afraid to reach out to your professors, they are here to help you succeed.
