I grew up in Wausau, WI with the intent to go to college out of high school, and UW-Marathon County made that transition seamless. The small class size and hands-on professors pushed me to do my best. While the tuition is respectively low, the education quality is anything but cut-rate. The classes were rigorous and prepared me well for the classes I would face after transferring to UW-Madison. Having professors that made themselves overly available really allowed me to succeed and get all my questions answered. I was able to build relationships with my professors which lead to opportunities, like VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) and a wonderful, hands-on accounting internship. With the experiences I built up at UW-Marathon County, I gained direct admission into the Wisconsin School of Business after transferring to UW-Madison. Overall, the professors at UW-Marathon County are top rate, and the available opportunities to grow as a first or second year student are very much so in reach, which may not be the case at a larger institution.
