I chose my social work major because I have a passion and desire to help people. I have worn different hats in life, so to speak, and I can relate and empathize with those who need a little extra help and guidance.
I volunteer with World Relief Fox Valley as a community mentor for a local refugee family. I love camping, nature, and outdoor activities. I volunteered with the Fox-Wolf Watershed Cleanup 2017. I help elderly family members get to their doctors’ appointments and help around the house.
I chose to attend UWFox for its size. Smaller class sizes and having easy access to my professors was important in my decision. The lower cost is also a benefit. Do not be afraid to ask questions. The professors and faculty are very helpful and friendly.
