imageidea@s: A safe copyright-free digital image repository for Wisconsin's educators and students

The purpose of this project was to create an online repository of copyright-free digital images to be used by Wisconsin's educators and students in the classroom. This easy-to-use searchable repository will include images that focus on Wisconsin's ethnic and cultural diversity, geology, biology, landmarks, and history. Jeff Horney, ide@s coordinator, Continuing Education, Outreach and E-learning, Susan Speth, Web Developer, Broadcasting and Media Innovations / Instructional Communications Systems and Nathan Trick, Online Resources specialist joined forces to create this website and to invite educators and students from across the state to submit their digital images. Content-specific invitations to participate went to faculty at various UW Colleges campuses. Over 1100 images have been stored on the site.
